Leopard’s Don’t Change Their Spots!

Dear Ms. HeartBeat:
I have been dating my boyfriend for almost 2 years.  We have a super relationship except for two things.  When he gets mad he says mean things like: “you are a dumb blonde,” or “stupid b#*tch!”  Then he tells me he regrets saying those things, and that he is sorry.  Then he yells at me to stop mentioning to him that he said it.  Is it right for him to do these things? 

Secondly, he admitted that he looks at women because they are something good to look at.  He said: “what do you want, I am a man. You will not find a man who won’t do this.”   Is this right?  I am considering leaving him for the second problem because I don’t accept this behavior and this is not what I want in a relationship. 

He says “so what if I look at other women, I still love you!” If all men are like this, I would rather be single.  Am I overreacting or is he not good for me?  I don’t accept this, but I don’t want to destroy my relationship for nothing.                           – Female, 23, Abused or Confused

Dear Abused:
Let me get this straight.  You want to leave him, but not for degrading and insulting you, demeaning you, and calling you horrible names?  You can accept his apology and honor his request not to bring up the fact that he verbally abused you?  That you can deal with.  But you want to leave him because he looks at other women? That you absolutely cannot accept? You would rather be single than have a man that even thinks about looking at other women even if he cusses you out?  Um hmmm. He is right, you are a dumb blonde.
